Music/Ultimate Frisbee Belt Loops!!!

Busy night!!!  We started the evening with the boys learning a little bit more about music and how music is beneficial to us individually as well as culturally.  We first talked about why music way important to our culture.  Some of the things the boys said were:
1--It can pump you up (like for a football game).
2--It can tell a story.
3--It can affect your mood.
The boys listened to 4 different types of music and we asked to draw pictures of what the music made them think of.  We had some interesting pictures but I think the boys had a great time:)

Then the real fun began when we moved into the gym to learn how to play Ultimate Frisbee!!!  The boys absolutely loved this game so have them teach it to you and your families:)

So 2 belt loops in 1 night!!!  We'll have them for you at our Nov. Pack Meeting!!!

Duty to God

Well tonight will probably not rank high in the "funnest thing EVER" category never the less, we covered the most important topic tonight--Duty to God.

As you can tell from the pics, the boys were a little less than thrilled to be sitting in a tiny room for an hour learning about people in the scriptures who showed great faith:

But the boys were all good sports and eager to participate (maybe because of the Hershey Kisses Sis. Park brought for those who did participate:) And hopefully they are all ready to teach their lesson for Family Home Evening tomorrow night--make sure to ask them if they haven't mentioned anything about it:)

October Pack Meeting

Last night was our October pack meeting. We only had about half of the families there due to Fall Break, but those that attended had a great time.

The Wolves only had a couple awards to hand out, but one of those was Nicholas who earned his Wolf rank!  And of course that means he had to "wolf" something down...this time it was a very messy chocolate doughnut!
And he got to give his mother the parent pin.  We appreciate the support we get from all our den parents.  Your boys (and us as den leaders) could not do it without you!
October is Fire Safety month, so Brother G. who is a firefighter from the ward came to do a special presentation.
He did an excellent job teaching us about the purpose of firefighters, 9-1-1, smoke alarms, escape plans, and meeting places.  He also showed us what a firefighter would look like in a fire so that we would not be afraid of them.  He even demonstrated the sound of his voice through the mask with oxygen breathing.
It was another successful pack meeting! A special thank you to all who attended and provided treats.
